The fruit for this wine is a blend of Mendoza, Clone 15 and Clone 95 Chardonnay, which was grown in the sandy silt soils of the lower terrace at Askerne Vineyard. The fruit was hand harvested, sorted then pressed with fractions kept seperate. The wine was fermented and aged for 9 months in 1-3 year old French and Hungarian oak barrels. Lees stirring was undertaken to naturally preserve and add structure to this wine. 100% of the wine underwent malolactic conversion.

A traditional Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay in style with ripe stone fruit aromas of nectarine and peach with supporting notes of butterscotch and vanilla. The palate is very rich, befitting the warm 2014 vintage with generous fruit sweetness followed by a smooth and luscious finish. Aging potential 3-5 years. The wine will compliment fish, chicken and pork dishes.
