WINEMAKING NOTES

This Syrah was grown on the stony soils on the lower terrace of Askerne Vineyard. The fruit was hand harvested between 11 and 16 April 2013.

It was destemmed and crushed, then macerated and fermented in tank. The wine was aged for 14 months in French oak Barrels (a mix of 50% new , 50% older).

TASTING NOTES

This cool climate Syrah exhibits spice and floral notes on the nose with vibrant raspberry fruit characters. The palate is middle weight with a sinewy acid and tannin balance. Drink over the next 5-7 years.
