$30.00

WINEMAKING NOTES

The fruit for this wine is comprised of 52% Mendoza, 26% Clone 15 and 22% Clone 95 Chardonnay which was grown in the sandy stony soils of the lower terrace. The fruit was hand harvested between 25 and 31 March 2013. It was sorted, and then whole bunch pressed with fractions kept seperate. The wine was fermented and aged for 9 months in French Oak barrels, 50% new, 50% one year old. Lees stiring was undertaken to naturally preserve and add structure to the wine. 70% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation.

TASTING NOTES

Barrel fermentation and ageing on lees has produced this powerful and complex Chardonnay that displays nectarine and ripe citrus fruit characters on the nose that follow through into the rich full bodied palate.
