2011 BARREL FERMENTED SAUVIGNON BLANC

WINEMAKING NOTES

The fruit for this wine was grown on the lower terraces of Askerne Vineyard. The fruit was hand harvested between 29th and 31st March  2011. The wine was 100 % Barrel fermented in older French oak barrels and aged in barrel for nine months.

TASTING NOTES

The nose displays ripe peach and pear characters with hints of gooseberry and spicy oak. The palate is firm with flavours of quince, white nectarine and citrus. This wine has good structure and a rounded palate. This wine will reward cellaring and will continue to develop in the bottle. The wine works well with seafood, quiche and lighter meats.
