This is the second Cabernet Franc made from Askerne Vineyard and was grown on the stony soils on the lower terrace. The fruit was hand-harvested on 13th May at 25 Brix. It was destemmed and crushed, then macerated and fermented in tank. The wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barriques (43% 1 yr old, the rest 2 yrs old).

TASTING NOTES

Traditional winemaking techniques have produced this wine that displays aromas of cherry and plum with sweet vanilla oak and floral notes. Sweet red fruits with plum and guava dominate the palate with lingering cherry flavours and hints of chocolate. The wine is well rounded with sweet tannins and a long finish. Aging potential 3 to 5 years. A good accompaniment for venison or lamb.
