2007 MERLOT/ CABERNET FRANC/ MALBEC

WINEMAKING NOTES

This wine was made from grapes grown on both the stony, sandy lower terrace of the vineyard and the heavier upper terrace. The varietal mix was 68% Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc,  12%Malbec. The fruit was hand harvested between 17th and 26th April 2007 and sorted. It was destemmed and crushed, then macerated and fermented in tanks. The wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barriques (a mix of 22% new, 15% 1 yr and old).

TASTING NOTES

Traditional winemaking techniques have produced this classical red wine which combines spice, plum chocolate and floral characters with well-integrated supporting oak. The palate is full bodied with a lingering rich, textural finish. Enjoy now or over the next 3 to 5 years from vintage with beef or venison dishes.
